SATURDAY, JUNE 10TH
Writers with Drinks
makeout room

The Makeout Room, 3225 22nd. St., San Francisco CA

June's Writers With Drinks will feature Taxidermy Dancing With The Stars!
Have you ever wanted to see Rabih Alameddine disembowel and stuff a goat
while doing a samba? Of course you have! That's a basic and very natural
human desire, and it's nothing to be ashamed of. Have you had thoughts about
watching Hillary Carlip or Lisa Montanarelli tango while mounting a gazelle?
It's okay, everybody has those thoughts. And now we're going to give you
what you want! The only catch is that you have to bring your own dead
animals, because goats are expensive these days. (Well, Samantha Chanse has
promised to snare some pigeons.)

When: Saturday, June 10, 2006, 7:30 to 9:30 PM, doors open at 7:00 PM
What: WRITERS WITH DRINKS, A fundraiser for other (http://www.othermag.org).

Featuring: Rabih Alameddine, Hillary Carlip, Lisa Montanarelli, Susan
Browne, Samantha Chanse and Lori Ann White
Location: The Make Out Room, 3225 22nd. St. between Mission and Valencia,
San Francisco
Admission: $3 to $5 sliding scale.
Vote for Writers With Drinks for "Best Literary Night" by going to
http://www.sfbg.com and clicking on "Best of the Bay poll"!

in solo shows in San Francisco, New York, London and Beirut.

Hillary Carlip is the author of Queen of the Oddballs, Girl Power and Zine
Scene. She's the creator of the personal essay site Fresh Yarn, and a

band called Angel and the Reruns, and appeared in several films, including
Bachelor Party.

Lisa Montanarelli's stories have appeared in Best American Erotica 2004 and
2005, Best of the Best Meat Erotica, Best Fetish Erotica and several other
anthologies. She's the co-author of Hepatitis C: The First Year. She's

River Styx, the Sun, Ploughshares, the Mississippi Review and Gargoyle. She
released the CD Swearing, Smoking, Drinking and Kissing with Kim Addonizio.

Francisco Comedy Club, Laugh Out The Vote, Haterade, and the Asian American
Comedy Showcase. Her play Sleeper was performed by the Asian American
Theater Company. She's the artistic director at the Kearny St. Workshop.

New York Nights

Starts Friday, May 19, 2006 10:00pm MDT
Location 414 Mason Street, 7th Floor (Corner of Geary above Ruby Skye)
Description “New York Nights” is an uncensored stand-up comedy show featuring working comics from all around the Bay Area and guest comics from other places like N.Y. & L.A. The show is intended to be a rush for the comedians as well as the audience. Often, stand-up comedians tailor or edit their material to be appropriate for certain venues. i.e. “please, clean material only” or “nothing about pre-marital sex” Not at this show, the comedians are free to explore wherever their talent and imaginations take them. Topics can include everything from the art of punani cleansing to the difficult decision a bachelor makes when choosing between a late night cheeseburger and the attentions of a lover.
A warning; this comedy show is not for the close-minded or squeamish! The magic happens every Friday night at 10pm and reservations are recommended.
It’s NY style, where people speak their minds.
